Funfetti Gooey Bars Recipe

I stole this recipe for Funfetti Gooey Bars Recipe from crazyforcrust.com. These delicious dessert bars start with cake mix. Butter and an egg are mixed with yellow cake mix. Then sprinkles are mixed into the batter. Half of the dough is pressed into the bottom of a baking pan, then sweetened condensed milk is poured on top and white chocolate chips are sprinkled on top. Next the second half of the dough is placed on top. The bars are baked until golden. Any color mix of sprinkles can be used in this recipe, making it easy to adapt for any holiday color scheme.

The ingredients for this recipe are: 1 box (15 oz) yellow cake mix, ½ cup unsalted butter, 1 large egg, ⅔ cup sprinkles, ½ cup sweetened condensed milk and 1 cup white chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350. Line a 9×9 baking pan with foil and spray liberally with cooking spray. Add cake mix, butter and egg to a large bowl.

Mix until a thick dough forms. This will take a long time, just keep mixing! Then add sprinkles and stir until incorporated.

Next press ½ of the dough into the bottom of the prepared pan. Pour the sweetened condensed milk over the top of the dough, leaving a border on the edges. Sprinkle with chocolate chips.

Separate the remaining dough into small balls and evenly space over the top of the bars. Then press down to flatten. Try to seal the edges as much as possible.

Bake the bars for about 25-30 minutes, or until they just begin to brown. Cool completely before slicing, otherwise the mixture will be too gooey to cut.

Cut and enjoy!
