Fireworks Blondies

I stole this recipe for Fireworks Blondies from crazyforcrust.com. These blondies are perfect for the Fourth of July. Butter and brown sugar are mixed together. Then eggs and vanilla are added with salt, baking powder and flour. Next red, white & blue M&Ms and sprinkles are stirred into the batter. The batter is spread into a baking dish and baked until golden. The colors of the M&Ms and sprinkles can be changed for whatever holiday you want. These blondies are worth finishing your vegetables for.

The ingredients for this recipe are: ½ cup unsalted butter, 2 cups brown sugar, 2 eggs, 1 tbsp vanilla extract, ½ tsp salt, 1 tsp baking powder, 2 cups AP flour, 2 cups red, white and blue M&Ms and ½ cup patriotic sprinkles

Preheat oven to 350 F. Line a 9×13 baking pan with foil or parchment paper and sprayed well with cooking spray. Mix butter and brown sugar with an electric mixer until crumbly. Then mix in eggs and vanilla until smooth.

Next mix in salt, baking powder, and then flour. Stir in M&Ms and sprinkles.

Then spread in prepared pan. The mixture is wet so it’s best to spray your hands with cooking spray and then smooth the dough with your hands to get an even layer.

Top with extra M&Ms if desired.

Bake for 22-25 minutes until they just start to turn golden. Err on the side of under baked with these – they’ll finish baking as they cool.

Cool completely before slicing.
