Fluffy Waffle Recipe

I stole this recipe for Fluffy Waffle Recipe from graceandgoodeats.com. These waffles taste just like the restaurant version! Flour, sugar, baking powder and salt are mixed in a bowl. Then a well is made in the center before adding melted butter, milk, eggs and vanilla. The wet ingredients are folded into the dry ingredients. Next, the batter is scoop into a preheated waffle iron. The waffles are cooked until golden brown and crisp, and then topped with you favorite toppings and syrup.

“A waffle is like a pancake with a syrup trap.” – Mitch Hedberg, Comedian (see more quotes in the Quotes tab)

For this recipe you will need: 2 cups AP flour, 4 tbsp sugar, 4 tsp baking powder, ½ tsp salt, 2 eggs, 1 ½ cups milk, 6 tbsp melted butter and 1 tsp vanilla extract.

Preheat waffle iron. Then gently coat with nonstick baking spray. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Then use the back of a spoon to create a well into the center.

Whisk two eggs into the milk until well combined. Next, pour the wet ingredients (butter, egg/milk mixture, vanilla) into the well of the dry ingredients and whisk until blended. Batter will be slightly lumpy; do not over mix.

Next, scoop the batter into the preheated waffle iron.

Then cook until the waffles are golden brown and crisp. (Turn the waffle maker after 2 minutes, then cook and an additional 2 minutes.)

Serve immediately. These waffles are delicious warm straight from the waffle maker with a little butter. Or you can top with your favorite toppings like fruit, whipped cream or syrup.
