Fluffy Waffle Recipe

These waffles taste just like the restaurant version! Flour, sugar, baking powder and salt are mixed in a bowl. Then a well is made in the center before adding melted butter, milk, eggs and vanilla. The wet ingredients are folded into the dry ingredients. Next, the batter is scoop into a preheated waffle iron. The waffles are cooked until golden brown and crisp, then top with you favorite toppings and syrup.
Course Breakfast
Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 20 minutes
Servings 5 waffles

Ingredients

  • 2 cups AP flour
  • 4 tbsp sugar
  • 4 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 ½ cups milk
  • 6 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat waffle iron. Gently coat with nonstick baking spray.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Use the back of a spoon to create a well into the center.
  3. Whisk two eggs into the milk until well combined.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients (butter, egg/milk mixture, vanilla) into the well of the dry ingredients and whisk until blended. Batter will be slightly lumpy; do not over mix.
  5. Scoop the batter into the preheated waffle iron and cook until the waffles are golden brown and crisp. (About 2-3 minutes, but will vary depending on the waffle maker.)
  6. Serve immediately or lay on a wire cooling rack until cool. Store any leftovers in an airtight bag in the freezer.

Recipe Notes

I use ½ cup batter per waffle and cook 2 min turn the waffle maker, and then cook 2 minutes more.
