Festive Chex Party Mix

I stole this recipe for Festive Chex Party Mix from chex.com. This delicious snack mix is easily customizable for any holiday by changing the color of sprinkles and chocolate candies. Rice chex cereal, mini marshmallows and mini pretzels are placed on a baking sheet lined with waxed paper. Almond bark is melted in a microwave then poured over the cereal mixture. The mixture is stirred until all the pieces are coated, then sprinkles are sprinkled on top. After cooling, the cereal mixture is tossed with powdered sugar and mixed with chocolate candies. This snack mix is so delicious you’ll get snacker’s elbow for eating so much of it.

Line a large rimmed cookie sheet with waxed paper. In a large bowl, mix 6 cups rice chex cereal, 2 cups mini marshmallows and 1 cup mini pretzels.

Then in a medium microwave safe bowl, microwave 15 oz vanilla candy coating (Almond bark) uncovered on HIGH 60 to 90 seconds, stirring after 1 minute, until almost melted.

Stir until smooth, cooking 15 seconds more if needed.

Next pour the melted white chocolate onto the cereal mixture; mix well to coat all of the pieces.

Spread evenly on the cookie sheet, then sprinkle with holiday sprinkles. Cool completely, about 15 minutes before breaking into bite-size pieces.

In a 2 quart resealable plastic bag, add coated cereal mixture and powdered sugar. Seal bag; shake to coat all of the pieces. Remove from bag and discard any remaining powdered sugar left in the bag. Next in a large serving bowl, mix coated cereal with chocolate candies.

  • 15 oz vanilla candy coating almond bark – 9 cubes from 20 pack
  • 3 tbsp holiday colored sprinkles or nonpareils
  • ¼ cups powdered sugar
  • 1 cup holiday colored candy coated chocolate candies
