Festive Chex Party Mix

This delicious snack mix is easily customizable for any holiday by changing the color of sprinkles and chocolate candies. Rice chex, mini marshmallows and mini pretzels are placed on a baking sheet. Almond bark is melted in a microwave then poured over the cereal mixture. The mixture is stirred until all the pieces are coated, then sprinkles are sprinkled on top. After cooling, the cereal mixture is tossed with powdered sugar and mixed with chocolate candies.

Ingredients

  • 6 cups rice chex or corn chex cereal
  • 2 cups mini marshmallows 10.5 oz bag
  • 1 cup mini pretzel twists 16 oz bag
  • 15 oz vanilla candy coating almond bark – 9 cubes from 20 pack
  • 3 tbsp holiday colored sprinkles or nonpareils
  • ¼ cups powdered sugar
  • 1 cup holiday colored candy coated chocolate candies

Instructions

  1. Line a large rimmed cookie sheet with waxed paper. In a large bowl, mix cereal, marshmallows and pretzels.
  2. In a medium microwave safe bowl, microwave candy coating uncovered on HIGH 60 to 90 seconds, stirring after 1 minute, until almost melted. Stir until smooth. Pour onto cereal mixture; mix well.
  3. Spread on cookie sheet, sprinkle with holiday sprinkles. Cool completely, about 15 minutes. Break into bite-size pieces.
  4. In a 2 quart resealable plastic bag, add coated cereal and powdered sugar. Seal bag; shake to coat. Remove from bag; discard any remaining powdered sugar.
  5. In a large serving bowl, mix coated cereal with chocolate candies.
