Starbuck’s Lemon Pound Cake

I stole this recipe for Starbuck’s Lemon Pound Cake from a cookbook called Six Sisters’ Stuff Copycat Cooking. This delicious copycat recipe gets help from cake mix and pudding. Boxed lemon cake mix, lemon pudding, sour cream, vegetable oil, eggs, water and lemon juice are mixed together in a bowl. Then the batter is split between two loaf pans. Next the cakes are baked and cooled, then drizzled with a homemade lemon glaze. The finished pound cakes are light and lemony.

The ingredients for this recipe are: 15.25 oz box lemon cake mix, 3.4 box instant lemon pudding mix, 1 cup sour cream, ⅓ cup vegetable oil, 4 eggs, ½ cup water and 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice

Preheat oven to 350 F. Grease and flour two 9×5 inch loaf pans. Combine ingredients in a large bowl.

Then beat on medium speed for 1-2 minutes.

Pour half of the batter into each prepared pan.

Bake for 45 to 50 minutes or until toothpick inserted in the center of the loaf comes out clean. Let cool in loaf pans for 30 minutes, then remove from pan and cool completely.

Mix 1 cup powdered sugar and 3 to 4 tbsp lemon juice together in small bowl desired consistency.

Drizzle over cooled loaves.
