Cheesy Garlic Cruffins

I stole this recipe for Cheesy Garlic Cruffins from iamhomesteader.com. These fancy looking muffins are actually very easy to make. Dough from a tube of crescent rolls is rolled out. Then a mixture of butter, chives and garlic is spread onto the dough. Next shredded cheese is sprinkled on top before the dough is cut and twisted. The twisted dough ball is placed in a muffin tin. Then repeated for the remaining dough. After the muffins are baked, they are brushed with melted butter. These muffins are so good, the added step of working the dough will be worth it.

The ingredients for this recipe are: 3 tubes (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll sheets, ½ cup unsalted butter, 1 tbsp chives, 1 tbsp garlic, 3 cups mild cheddar cheese, 3 tbsp unsalted butter, 1 tsp garlic, 1 tsp chives and 1 tsp kosher salt

In a medium bowl combine the butter, chives and garlic.

Working on a lightly floured work surface, roll out each tube of dough to a 12×16 inch rectangle. Spread about ⅓ of the butter mixture over the top of one sheet of dough.

Sprinkle 1 cup cheddar cheese on top of the butter mixture.

Then spread the cheese evenly to cover the dough.

Next starting on the long end of the dough sheet, tightly roll it up into a log. Cut the log in half widthwise, creating two logs. Cut each log in half lengthwise, resulting in 4 sections.

Roll each section of dough with the layered side facing out, roll it tightly into a cinnamon roll shape, tucking in the end piece of dough. Then place into prepared muffin tin. Repeat with remaining 11 sections.

Bake at 350 F for 20 to 25 minutes, or until golden brown. Whisk together melted butter, garlic, chives and salt. Brush the butter topping over the warm rolls.

Serve warm and enjoy.
