Red Velvet Marble Bundt Cake

I stole this recipe for Red Velvet Marble Bundt Cake from momlovesbaking.com. This beautiful cake is perfect for Christmas. Yellow cake mix, flour, sugar, sour cream, vegetable oil, water, mayonnaise, eggs and vanilla are beaten together in a bowl. Then 2 cups of the batter is mixed with cocoa powder and red food coloring. The batters are poured into a bundt pan by alternating the two batters in the pan. Next the cake is baked and cooled, then drizzled with a mixture of powdered sugar, milk and vanilla. The finished cake has a pretty marbled effect when sliced. This cake is so yummy, you’ll want to lick the bowl.

The ingredients for this recipe are: 1 box classic yellow cake mix, 1 cup AP flour, 1 cup granulated sugar, ¾ cup sour cream, ½ cup vegetable oil, ½ cup water, ¼ cup mayonnaise, 4 eggs, 2 tsp vanilla extract, 1 tbsp cocoa powder, 1 tbsp red food coloring, 2 ½ cups powdered sugar, 3 tbsp + 1 tsp milk and 1 tsp vanilla extract

Place all ingredients except cocoa powder and red food coloring in a large bowl. Mix on low with an electric mixer until combined. Then turn speed to medium and beat for 2 minutes.

Transfer 2 cups of batter to a medium bowl, stir in cocoa and food coloring.

Pour a third of the plain batter evenly in a greased and floured Bundt pan. Gently scoop half of the red batter on top, distributing evenly. Use a spatula to smooth slightly.

Continue layering batters in pan as directed above until all batter is used.

Bake in preheated oven to 50 to 55 minutes or until a toothpick is inserted in the middle comes out clean.

Let cool completely, about 1 hour. Remove from pan to a cooling rack.

Then in a large bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk and vanilla until smooth. Place cake onto serving platter and drizzle with vanilla glaze.

Slice and serve with ice cream.
