I stole this recipe for Churro Saltine Toffee from 5boysbaker.com. This cinnamon sugar recipe is a delicious dessert or snack! First a baking sheet is lined with parchment paper. Then saltine crackers are placed in a single layer. Next in a saucepan melted butter and brown sugar are cooked until boiling, then poured over the crackers. The pan bakes in the oven until the brown sugar mixture bubbles. White chocolate chips are sprinkled on top then left to melt, then spread into an even layer. Then a cinnamon sugar is sprinkled on top. Once the chocolate is set the mixture is broken into pieces and served. The pieces taste just like a churro.
Did you know? A churro is a Spanish and Mexican specialty that is a sweet-dough spiral that is deep fried and coated with cinnamon and granulated sugar.¹ (see more trivia in the Trivia tab)
