Million Dollar Spaghetti

I stole this recipe for Million Dollar Spaghetti from yellowblissroad.com. This delicious pasta casserole has all the flavors of lasagna, but none of the extra work. Seasoned ground beef is cooked with jarred marinara sauce. Then cream cheese, ricotta cheese, garlic powder and Italian seasoning are mixed together. Next cooked spaghetti is mixed with some marinara sauce. Half of the noodles are placed in a baking dish. Then the cheese mixture is spread on top. The sauce mixture is poured on top. Shredded mozzarella cheese is added last before baking until golden brown. This pasta dish is a delicious treat for all lasagna lovers.

The ingredients for this recipe are: ½ cup diced onions, 3 cloves garlic, 1 lb ground beef, 2 tsp Italian seasoning, 3 cups marinara sauce, 1 lb spaghetti, 8 oz cream cheese, 1 cup ricotta cheese, 1 tsp garlic powder and 2 cups mozzarella cheese

Spray a large sauté pan with cooking spray and heat over medium-high heat. Add chopped onion and sauté for 3 minutes. Then add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute more. Next add the ground beef and sauté, breaking up until browned.

Drain beef and return to pan. Season with 1 tsp of Italian seasoning and mix well with 2 cups of marinara sauce and set aside.

While the beef is cooking, boil spaghetti in well salted water for 3 minutes less than the al dente. Drain and return to pot and mix well with 1 cup of marinara sauce. Set aside.

Then in a medium bowl combine cream cheese, ricotta cheese, garlic powder and 1 tsp of Italian seasoning. Mix well.

Preheat oven to 350 F. Grease a 9×13 baking pan. Place half of the spaghetti in an even layer in the baking pan. Then evenly spread the cheese mixture over the top of the spaghetti.

Next place the remaining spaghetti in a single layer over top of the cheese. Spread the beef and sauce mixture evenly over the top of the spaghetti. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.

Bake for 30 minutes or until the top of the cheese is golden brown.

Serve immediately.
