Everything Bagel Make Ahead Breakfast Casserole

I stole this recipe for Everything Bagel Make Ahead Breakfast Casserole from homemadeinterest.com. This easy to make breakfast casserole is prepped the night before. Everything seasoned bagels are cut into cubes and layered in a casserole dish with bacon, shredded cheese and cream cheese. Eggs are whisked with heavy cream, salt and pepper. Then the egg mixture is poured on the layers in the pan and refrigerated overnight. The casserole is baked in the morning. This is casserole is flexible there are lots of flavors in it such bagels, eggs, cheese and bacon.

Cook 8 oz bacon, I recommend using the oven for less mess. Dice the cooked bacon and set aside.

Next, cut 5 Everything Bagels into 1-inch cubes. (I bought a package of bagels that had 6 bagels in the bag, so I used all 6 bagels.)

Add ½ of the bagel cubes to a sprayed 9×13 casserole dish. Sprinkle with half of the bacon, then 1 cup shredded Gruyere and 4 oz cubed cream cheese.

Repeat with another layer of bagel, bacon and cheeses. In a bowl combine 8 eggs, 2 cups heavy cream, ½ tsp salt and ¼ tsp pepper. Whisk until thoroughly combined. Then pour the egg mixture over the bagels, making sure to cover all of them.

Tightly cover the casserole dish and place in the refrigerator for 4 hours or overnight. (I sprinkle some parsley on top first.)

Preheat oven to 350 F. When ready to bake the casserole, place in the oven and bake for 40 minutes. Then remove the foil and continue to bake for 15 minutes.

Let cool 15 minutes before serving.
