I stole this recipe for Chocolate Oreo Cheesecake Cake from beyondfrosting.com. This fancy looking cake is actually easy to make because it starts with boxed cake mix. Chocolate cake mix is mixed with cocoa powder, eggs, oil, water, sour cream and vanilla. A third of the cake batter is poured into a bundt pan. Then a mixture of cream cheese and crushed Oreos is spread on the batter before poured the rest of the batter on top. The cake is baked and topped with cream cheese frosting and crushed Oreos. This chocolate cake is so tasty, you’ll be tempted to eat it as a midnight snack.

The ingredients for this recipe are: 1 box (15 oz) chocolate cake, ¼ cup cocoa powder, 4 large eggs, ½ cup vegetable oil, ¾ cup water, 1 cup sour cream, 3 tsp vanilla, 12 oz cream cheese, ⅓ cup granulated sugar, 1 ½ cups crushed Oreos, 2 cups powdered sugar and 4 to 5 tsp heavy whipping cream

In a large mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, cocoa powder, eggs, oil, water, sour cream and vanilla. Mix all the ingredients until they are well combined and smooth. Set aside.

Then in a medium sized bowl, combine the softened cream cheese with the egg, granulated sugar and vanilla.

Mix all the ingredients until they are well combined and smooth. Stir in the crushed Oreos.

Place at least ⅓ of the batter into the bottom of a greased and floured bundt pan.

Then spread the Oreo cheesecake over the top of the batter and try to spread it evenly.

Finally, cover the cheesecake layer with remaining cake batter.

Bake at 350 F for 45 to 52 minutes. Test the cake for doneness, insert a knife into the cake, if the knife comes out clean, the cake is done.

Remove the wrapper and microwave the cream cheese for 20 seconds and then beat the cream cheese until it is smooth. Next add the powdered sugar and vanilla and heat until the ingredients are well combined.

Then slowly add the heavy cream, 1 teaspoon at a time until the cream cheese reaches the desired consistency. Place the cream cheese in a piping bag and cut the edge off. Pipe the frosting along the top and the sides of the cake.

Then sprinkle with more crushed Oreos on top.

Slice and serve.

Don’t forget the ice cream.
