Green Cookies

I stole this recipe for Green Cookies from kitchendivas.com. These green cookies are perfect for St. Patrick’s Day. Brown sugar and granulated sugar are creamed together with butter. Then eggs, vanilla and green food coloring are whisked into the bowl. Next flour, baking powder and baking soda are added. Chocolate chips, white chocolate chips and crushed Oreos are folded into the batter. The batter is scooped into balls and baked until golden. These cookies are so good, your supply will go quick.

The ingredients for this recipe are: 1 cup light brown sugar, ½ cup granulated sugar, 1 cup butter, 2 large eggs, 1 tsp vanilla extract, ½ tsp green food coloring, ½ tsp baking powder, 1 tsp baking soda, 3 cups AP flour, 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips, 1 cup white chocolate chips and 1 cup crushed Oreo cookies

In a large bowl, cream together the sugars and butter until the mixture is smooth.

Whisk in the eggs, vanilla and food coloring slowly until the ingredients are fully incorporated.

Gently whisk in the flour, baking powder and baking soda until no clumps of dry ingredients remain in the cookie dough.

Then add in the chocolate chips, white chocolate chips and crushed Oreos.

Next gently fold all the ingredients into the batter.

Scoop balls of cookie dough the size of 2 tablespoons onto a cookie sheet.

Bake at 375 F for 8 minutes.

Allow the cookies to cool for about 5 minutes before removing them from the baking sheet.

Recipe Notes

Dough can be refrigerated for 20 minutes before forming into balls to prevent spreading while baking.
