Cinnamon Swirl Bread

I stole this recipe for Cinnamon Swirl Bread from allthingsmamma.com. This sweet bread is tasty treat for breakfast or a snack. Flour, sugar, baking soda and salt mixed together in a bowl. Then buttermilk, egg and oil and added to the dry ingredients. Next half of the batter is poured into a loaf pan. A mixture of cinnamon sugar is sprinkled on top. Then the process is repeated with the rest of the batter and more cinnamon sugar. Cut through the batter with a knife before baking. After cooling a glaze is drizzled on top before serving. This recipe is perfect for anyone who loves cinnamon.

The ingredients for this recipe are: 2 cups AP flour, 1 ½ cups sugar, 1 tsp baking soda, ½ tsp salt, 1 cup buttermilk, 1 large egg, ¼ cup vegetable oil, 1 tbsp ground cinnamon, ¼ cup powdered sugar and 1 ½ to 2 tsp whole milk

In a large bowl, combine flour, 1 cup sugar, baking soda and salt.

Combine buttermilk, egg and oil in a separate bowl.

Stir into dry ingredients just until moistened.

In a small bowl combine cinnamon and ½ cup sugar.

Grease the bottom only of a 9×5 inch loaf pan. Pour half of the batter into the pan and sprinkle with half of the cinnamon sugar.

Then add the remaining batter to the pan.

Next sprinkle with remaining cinnamon sugar; cut through batter with a knife to swirl.

Bake at 350 F for 45 to 50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes before removing from the pan to a wire rack to cool completely.

In a small bowl, combine powdered sugar and milk.

Drizzle over loaf, then slice and serve.
