Marry Me Pasta

I stole this recipe for Marry Me Pasta from aldentediva.com. This delicious pasta is easy to make and quick enough for a weeknight meal. Onion and garlic are sautéed in olive oil. Then butter, tomato paste, flour, Italian seasoning, salt and pepper are added to the pan. After cooking for a few minutes, chicken stock and heavy cream are added with chopped sun-dried tomatoes, basil and Parmesan cheese. Lastly, pasta water, more salt, pepper, Italian seasoning & garlic powder are added with cooked pasta before serving. Anyone who loves pasta will love you for making this dish!

The ingredients for this recipe are: 1 lb spaghetti, 2 tbsp olive oil, 1 small onion, 4 garlic cloves, 2 tbsp Italian seasoning, 2 tbsp tomato paste, 2 tbsp butter, 2 tbsp flour, ½ cup chicken broth, 1 cup heavy cream, 2 to 3 tbsp sun-dried tomatoes, 1 tbsp oil from sun-dried tomatoes jar, ½ cup Parmesan cheese, 3 tbsp basil, salt and pepper, 2 tbsp garlic powder

Heat the olive oil in a large pan and sauté the onion until it’s soft. Add the garlic and cook for 1 minute.

Then add the butter, tomato paste, flour, Italian seasoning and lightly season with salt and pepper.

Stir it all together and let it cook over medium high heat for 2 minutes.

Next, stir in chicken stock and cream. Then add the sun-dried tomatoes and little bit of oil from the jar.

Stir in the basil and Parmesan cheese.

Finally, add 1 ladle of cooked pasta water and add more salt, pepper, Italian seasoning and garlic powder with cooked pasta.

Toss everything together in the sauce until it is evenly coated.

Serve warm and enjoy!
