The ingredients for this recipe are: 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, 1 tsp salt, ½ tsp garlic powder, ½ tsp onion powder, 1 tsp black pepper, 2 tbsp olive oil, 2 tbsp butter, 1 ½ cups chicken broth, 3 tbsp cornstarch, 1 cup heavy cream, 4 cloves garlic, 1 ½ tsp Italian seasoning, ½ tsp red pepper flakes, ½ tsp paprika, ⅓ cup chopped sun-dried tomatoes, ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese and 10 fresh basil leaves

Season the chicken on both sides with the salt, garlic powder, onion powder and black pepper. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the chicken breasts in olive oil and melted butter until golden brown, take the pan off the heat; and set aside.

Whisk together the chicken broth and cornstarch in a bowl until there are no lumps. Then add in the heavy cream, garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, black pepper, red pepper flakes and paprika.

Add the sauce to a sprayed slow cooker. Place the seared chicken breasts into the slow cooker and pour the olive oil and butter from the pan on top.

Then top each piece of chicken with the chopped sun-dried tomatoes.

Next cook on LOW for 6 to 7 hours. Take the chicken out of the slow cooker.

Whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese into the sauce.

Add the sauce to the chicken.

Serve immediately.

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken on both sides with the salt, garlic powder, onion powder and black pepper.
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the olive oil and melt the butter.
  3. Sear the chicken breasts until golden brown, take the pan off the heat; and set aside.
  4. Whisk together the chicken broth and cornstarch in a bowl until there are no lumps.
  5. Add the chicken broth mixture to the bottom of an 8-quart slow cooker.
  6. Whisk in the heavy cream, garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, black pepper, red pepper flakes and paprika.
  7. Place the seared chicken breasts into the slow cooker and pour the olive oil and butter from the pan on top.
  8. Top each piece of chicken with the chopped sun-dried tomatoes. Place on LOW for 6 to 7 hours.
  9. Take the chicken out of the slow cooker. Whisk in the Parmesan cheese into the sauce. Add the chicken back to the slow cooker, cover the sauce and add the basil, serve immediately.
