Easy Hawaiian Roll Breakfast Sliders

I stole this recipe for Easy Hawaiian Roll Breakfast Sliders from amindfullmom.com. These tasty breakfast sandwiches are delicious weekend treat or can be prepped ahead for weekday mornings. Eggs are whisked with cream, salt and pepper. The eggs are scrambled and set aside. Then breakfast sausage is crumbled and cooked in a skillet. Next slider buns are sliced open and the bottom pieces are placed in a baking dish. Then the eggs, sausage and sliced cheese is placed on top before adding the bun tops. Butter is spread on top before baking until the cheese is melted and the buns are toasted. Anyone can make these sandwiches, no matter whose turn it is to cook breakfast.

The ingredients for this recipe are: 12 Hawaiian slider buns, 8 large eggs, ¼ cup cream or milk, ½ tsp salt, ½ lb breakfast sausage, 8 to 10 slices sharp cheddar cheese and 2 tbsp butter

Brown up the breakfast sausage over medium heat until cooked through, breaking up the small pieces as the sausage cooks. Drain off any excess grease.

In a small bowl whisk together the eggs, cream, salt and pepper.

Then scramble the eggs in a skillet until fully cooked.

Place the bottom of the slider buns into a baking dish. Then add the baked eggs on top of the slider buns.

Next add the cooked sausage.

Top with the sliced cheese, overlapping the cheese slightly.

Finally add the tops of the buns.

Spread the butter on top of the buns. Bake at 350 F for 20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the buns are slightly toasted.

Separate the sandwiches by cutting the buns with a bread knife and enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 12 Hawaiian slider buns
  • 8 large eggs
  • ¼ cup cream or milk
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ lb breakfast sausage
  • 8 to 10 slices sharp cheddar cheese
  • 2 tbsp butter melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 F. Line a 7×11 baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk together the eggs, cream, salt and pepper. Pour into the prepared pan and bake until eggs are set or for 13 to 16 minutes. When the eggs are finished baking, allow the eggs to cool for 5 minutes in the pan then carefully lift the parchment paper out of the pan.
  3. While the eggs are baking, brown up the breakfast sausage over medium heat until cooked through, breaking up the small pieces as the sausage cooks. Drain off any excess grease.
  4. Place the bottom of the slider buns into the dish the eggs where baked in. Place the baked eggs on the slider buns, removing the parchment paper. Trim off any excess if needed. Top with the crumbled sausage and then top with the sliced cheese, overlapping the cheese slightly. Top with the slider bun tops.
  5. Melt the butter and then brush over the slider tops.
  6. Bake for 20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the buns are slightly toasted.

Recipe Notes

Eggs can be scrambled in a skillet if preferred instead of baking. Make ahead: Prep the sliders but don’t brush with the butter. Refrigerate overnight. Let sit at room temperature for 30 minutes before baking. Brush with maple butter before baking.
