These delicious bar cookies are quick and easy to make. First butter, shortening and sugar are creamed together. Then eggs and vanilla are mixed in with flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt. The dough is pressed into a baking dish. Next a mixture of cinnamon and sugar is sprinkled on top before baking. Once cooled, the bars are cut before serving.

Ingredients
½cupbuttersoftened
½cupshortening
1 ½cupsgranulated sugar
2large eggs
2tspvanilla extract
2 ¾cupsAP flour
1 ½tspcream of tartar
1tspbaking soda
¼tspsalt
1 ½tbspgranulated sugar
1tspcinnamon
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 F.
Cream together butter, shortening and 1 ½ cups granulated sugar. Add eggs and vanilla and mix well. Add the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt and stir until combined.
Lightly grease a 9x13 baking pan. Press the dough into an even layer on the bottom of the pan.
In a small cup or bowl, mix the 1 ½ tbsp granulated sugar and 1 tsp cinnamon. Sprinkle mixture evenly over the top of the dough.
Bake for 22 to 26 minutes (don’t over bake!). Remove and allow to cool completely before cutting and serving.
