The delicious marinade is the key to this recipe. In a small saucepan garlic, ginger, soy sauce, ketchup, sugar, white vinegar and water are combine. Then simmered for 30 minutes, before adding cornstarch and cooking until thickened. Next the steaks are marinated for a day before grilling.

1tspgarlicfinely chopped
4tspfresh gingerfinely chopped
1cupsoy sauce
¼cupketchup
¼cupsugar
½cupwhite vinegar
¾cupwater
1tbspcornstarch
2lbssteak
Instructions
Combine garlic, ginger, soy sauce, ketchup, sugar, vinegar and water in saucepan. Cover and simmer for 30 minutes.
Dissolve cornstarch in an additional 2 tbsp water and add to sauce. Cook and stir until sauce thickens. Cool. (Makes 1 ⅔ cups marinade.)
Marinate steaks in sauce, covered in refrigerator for 24 hours or longer, turning occasionally.
Drain steaks and broil or grill 5 minutes each side.
