These tender ribs start in a pressure cooker. A dry rub is made with salt, brown sugar, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder and crushed red pepper. The rack of ribs is rubbed with the spice mixture. Then a can of Coke and liquid smoke are added to a pressure cooker. Next the ribs are added and cooked on high pressure, then removed from the pot and brushed with barbecue sauce before placing on a warm grill. The ribs are grilled until the sauce browns and becomes sticky.

Ingredients
2tbspkosher salt
2tbspbrown sugar
1tspblack pepper
1tspgarlic powder
1tsponion powder
1tspchili powder
1tspcrushed red pepper
1rack baby back ribs
12ozcan coke
¼tspliquid smoke
1cupbarbecue sauce
Instructions
Combine first 7 ingredients and mix together to make a rub. Set aside.
Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs by loosening one end with a knife and grabbing with a paper towel and pulling off.
Apply rub to both sides of ribs and place metal ring inside of pressure cooker.
Pour coke and liquid smoke into center of pot. Add ribs to instant pot.
Pressure cook on manual HIGH for 30 minutes and allow pressure to release naturally. (will take about 15 minutes to come to pressure.)
Baking:
Preheat oven to 400 F.
Transfer ribs to broiler pan and brush with barbecue sauce.
Bake 10-15 minutes or so, ensure ribs don’t burn.
Grilling:
Warm the grill to medium-high heat.
Grill for 3-4 minutes until some of the sauce is browned and sticky.
