The secret to this delicious recipe is the yummy cooking sauce. First water, red pepper flakes, brown sugar, hoisin, rice vinegar, ketchup, soy sauce and cornstarch are whisked together. Then garlic and ginger are cooked in a skillet. Next shrimp is added to the skillet and cooked for a few minutes. The sauce is poured over the shrimp and cooked until the sauce thickens. Sesame seeds and green onions are sprinkled on top of the shrimp when serving.

½cupwater
¼tspred pepper flakes
¼cupbrown sugar
3tbspHoisin sauce
3tbsprice vinegar

2tbsplow sodium soy sauce

1inchknob fresh gingerminced

2lbspeeled, tail off, deveined large shrimp (40-50 shrimp)

Instructions
In a small bowl add water, red pepper flakes, brown sugar, hoisin, rice vinegar, ketchup, soy sauce and cornstarch. Whisk to combine.
Then in a large skillet over medium heat, add sesame oil and heat for 30 seconds. Add the garlic and ginger and sauté for 1 minute stirring constantly. Next add the shrimp and cook for 2 minutes.
Whisk the sauce again, then pour into the skillet. Turn the heat to high, and stir through the shrimp. Allow sauce to come to a boil, then reduce heat to a simmer. Cook 2 to 3 minutes more until the sauce is thickened and shrimp are cooked through.
Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions. Serve immediately.
