These yummy waffles taste just like banana bread. Brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg are mixed with flour, baking powder and baking soda. Then buttermilk, vanilla, mashed bananas and melted butter are mixed in next. Chopped pecans are folded in last. The batter is poured into a sprayed waffle maker and cooked until golden and fluffy.

2cupsflour
1tspbaking powder
1tspbaking soda
¼tspsalt
⅓cupbrown sugar
1tspcinnamon
¼tspnutmeg
1 ½cupslow-fat buttermilk
1tbspvanilla
1cupmashed ripe bananas2-3 large
2tbspmelted butter
2tbsppearl sugar or 6 sugar cubesbroken into chunks
Instructions
Whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg; set aside.
In a large bowl, stir together buttermilk, vanilla, bananas and melted butter.
Add flour mixture to buttermilk and stir until just combined.
Spray waffle iron and add batter.
Sprinkle waffle with pearl sugar or broken sugar cubes.
Cook waffle according to directions about 5 minutes total.
