Baked Breaded Shrimp

These crunchy shrimp are easy to make. Shrimp is coated with cornstarch and then dipped in an egg and water mixture. Next the shrimp is coated with a mixture of breadcrumbs, salt, pepper, Old Bay, garlic powder and paprika. The coated shrimp is placed on a parchment lined baking sheet. After spraying with cooking spray, the shrimp is baked for about 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 30 jumbo shrimp peeled and deveined
  • cup cornstarch
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 1 tbsp cold water
  • 1 ½ cups breadcrumbs
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp Old Bay Seasoning
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp paprika

Instructions

  1. Place cornstarch in a shallow bowl.
  2. Beat eggs and water together and place in another bowl.
  3. Combine breadcrumbs and seasonings and add to a third bowl.
  4. Dip the shrimp in the cornstarch.
  5. Then dip in the egg mixture.
  6. Finally toss with the breadcrumb mixture.
  7. Place the coated shrimp on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Spray the tops of the shrimp with cooking spray. Flip the shrimp over and spray the other side.
  8. Bake at 400 F for 8 to 12 minutes, turning halfway through. Bake until golden brown and fully cooked.
