I stole this recipe for Whole Seasoned Chicken from a cookbook called The Easy 5 Ingredients Slow Cooker Cookbook. This easy to make slow cooker chicken recipe tastes just like rotisserie chicken. Onion slices, garlic cloves and chicken broth are added to a slow cooker. Then in a small bowl butter, rosemary, sage, thyme, salt and pepper and mixed together. Next the spice mixture is rubbed all over a whole chicken. The chicken is placed breast side down in the slow cooker and cooked for eight hours. After cooking the chicken is removed from the slow cooker then tented with foil and rested before serving. This recipe is great way to take advantage of supermarket sales, if you can find the chicken.

The ingredients for this recipe are: 1 large onion, 6 garlic cloves, 1 cup chicken broth, 3 tbsp butter, 1 tsp dried rosemary, 1 tsp dried sage, 1 tsp salt, ¼ tsp ground black pepper and 5 lbs whole chicken

In a small bowl stir together the butter, rosemary, sage, thyme, salt and pepper.

Rub the spice mixture all over the chicken (make sure the chicken is dry before doing this step).

Place the onion slices, garlic and chicken broth in a slow cooker.

Then place the chicken breast side down, on top of the onion and garlic.

Cover and cook on LOW for 8 hours or until internal temperature reaches 165 F.

Carefully remove the chicken and place on a platter or rimmed baking sheet. Loosely tent the chicken with foil and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
