The Best Chicken Marinade

This delicious grilled chicken recipe gets all of its flavor from the marinade. Olive oil, lemon juice, soy sauce, balsamic vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, salt and pepper are whisked together in a bowl. Then the marinade is poured over the chicken and refrigerated. Next the chicken is grilled, then rested before serving.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs chicken breasts
  • ⅓ to ½ cup olive oil
  • 3 tbsp lemon juice
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 garlic cloves minced or ½ tsp garlic powder
  • 1 ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • Parsley

Instructions

  1. In a bowl stir together oil, lemon juice, soy sauce, balsamic vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, salt and pepper.
  2. Pierce the chicken with a fork all over. Place in a Ziploc bag. Pour marinade over chicken.
  3. Let the chicken marinade for at least 30 minutes, 4 to 5 hours is ideal.
  4. Preheat grill to medium heat. Brush grill with oil to prevent sticking.
  5. Place chicken on grill. Cook for 5 to 6 minutes per side, depending on the thickness. The internal temperature should be 165 F.
  6. Remove chicken and let rest for 5 minutes.
