Slow Cooker Sirloin Beef Tips & Gravy

This delicious dinner is perfect for a fall day. Beef tips are dredged in a mixture of flour, salt, pepper and garlic powder. Then the beef tips are browned on all sides before being placed in a slow cooker. Next onions and mushrooms are put on top of the beef. A mixture of beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup and red wine vinegar is poured into the slow cooker. Then Italian seasoning is sprinkled on top before cooking for several hours.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup flour
  • 1 tsp seasoned salt
  • ¼ tsp ground pepper
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder
  • 3 to 4 lbs sirloin roast tips
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion diced
  • 1 cup fresh mushrooms
  • 10.5 oz can condensed beef broth
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 2 tbsp red wine vinegar
  • 2 tbsp water
  • ½ tsp Italian seasoning
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Coat the slow cooker insert with nonstick cooking spray. In a medium bowl, mix together flour, salt, pepper and garlic powder. Dredge meat tips in flour mixture.
  2. Heat olive oil in large skillet over medium-high heat, then brown tips on all sides. Place beef tips in slow cooker.
  3. Dump onions and mushrooms on top of meat.
  4. Mix broth, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, red wine vinegar and water in bowl. Pour everything on top of meat in slow cooker. Sprinkle Italian seasoning on top of everything and cook on LOW for 7 to 8 hours.
  5. Mix cornstarch and water in a separate bowl. Using a strainer, remove beef tips and place in a separate bowl. Pour the cornstarch mixture into the slow cooker and mix well. Add beef tips back to slow cooker and cook on HIGH for 10 minutes, until liquid has started to thicken and turns into a gravy.
  6. Serve over mashed potatoes or noodles.
