This delicious slow cooker recipe gets its flavor from the yummy cooking sauce. Soy sauce, brown sugar, water, garlic, ginger and sesame oil are whisked together in a bowl. Then sliced beef roast is placed in a slow cooker with green onions. Next the sauce is poured over the beef and onions, then cooked for several hours. Once the beef is tender the sauce is thickened with cornstarch and water, then sesame seeds and more green onions are stirred in before serving.

½cupsoy sauce
⅓cupbrown sugar
½cupwater
2garlic clovesminced
1 ½tspgrated fresh ginger
1tsptoasted sesame oil
2lbsbeef roast
6green onionsdivided

Instructions
Combine the soy sauce, brown sugar and ½ cup water in a bowl and stir until the brown sugar is dissolved. Mince the garlic and grate the ginger. Add the garlic, ginger and sesame oil to the soy sauce mixture. Set aside.
Slice or cube beef roast. Slice 3 of the green onions into 1 ½ to 2 inch sections. Place the beef and green onions in the slow cooker. Pour the cooking liquid over top and stir to combine.
Place lid on the slow cooker and cook on HIGH for 4 hours or on LOW for 8 hours. After cooking, the beef should be tender and shred easily with a fork. If not, replace the lid and cook for 30 to 60 minutes more.
Once the beef is tender, thicken the sauce. Dissolve the cornstarch in 2 tbsp water, the pour into the beef and cooking liquid. Stir to combine, then allow it to come back up to a simmer, the sauce will thicken just slightly. Turn the heat off and garnish with sesame seeds and remaining sliced green onions. Serve over rice or with your favorite side.
