Ricotta Parmesan Garlic Bread

This recipe is a delicious twist on traditional garlic bread. Ricotta cheese, butter, mayonnaise, garlic powder, oregano, parsley and basil are mixed together in a bowl with Parmesan cheese. Then a loaf of French bread is sliced in half lengthwise. Next the cheese mixture is spread onto the bread pieces. The bread is baked for 10 minutes, then sprinkled with more Parmesan cheese and broiled until the cheese is melted.

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf of French bread
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • ¼ cup softened butter
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp dried oregano
  • ½ tsp dried parsley
  • ½ tsp dried basil
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese divided

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 F. Line baking sheet with foil.
  2. Slice French bread in half lengthwise.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together all ingredients except Parmesan cheese until smooth. Stir in ½ cup Parmesan cheese.
  4. Evenly spread ricotta cheese mixture over both pieces of bread. Bake for 10 minutes.
  5. Remove bread from oven and sprinkle with remaining ½ cup Parmesan cheese
  6. Broil for 2 minutes until cheese is melted. Garnish with parsley.
