The secret to this delicious chicken is the dry rub. Brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, chili powder, onion powder, salt and pepper are mixed together. Then chicken is added to the mixture and refrigerated. Next the chicken is either grilled or baked in the oven. If not grilling, the chicken is pan seared in a skillet, then placed in the oven to finish cooking. BBQ sauce is brushed on the chicken before serving whether the chicken is grilled or baked.

4 to 6boneless skinless chicken breasts
6tbsppacked brown sugar
3tbsppaprika
2tspgarlic powder
2tspchili powder
2tsponion powder
1 ½tspsalt
2tspblack pepper
⅓cupBBQ sauceSweet Baby Ray’s / Stubbs
Instructions
Mix together the brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, chili powder, onion powder, salt and pepper.
Place chicken in Ziploc bag. Add brown sugar mixture. Seal and shake to coat chicken. Refrigerate 2 hours to overnight.
Remove chicken from bag and grill until reaches 165 F.
Brush chicken with BBQ sauce on each side before removing from grill.
Oven
Pan sear chicken 3 to 4 minutes on each side. Transfer to baking dish and at 400 F for 10 minutes, until reaches 165 F. Brush with BBQ sauce.
