Herbed Parmesan Bread

This is an easy to make quick bread that is perfect with any soup or stew. Biscuit mix is combined with grated cheese, Italian seasoning and salt. In a separate bowl an egg is mixed with evaporated milk and water. The wet ingredients are folded into the dry ingredients. Then the batter is poured into a greased loaf pan. Additional cheese is sprinkled on top before baking.

Ingredients

  • 3 ¾ cup biscuit baking mix
  • 1 cup + 2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese divided
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 egg room temperature
  • 1 can (5 oz) evaporated milk
  • ¾ cup water

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 F. In a large bowl, combine the biscuit mix, 1 cup cheese, Italian seasoning and salt.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk egg, milk and water. Stir into dry ingredients just until moistened. Transfer to a greased 8x4 in loaf pan. Sprinkle with remaining cheese.
  3. Bake until toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, 35-40 minutes. Cool 10 minutes before removing from pan to a wire rack.
