Buttermilk Pancakes

This easy to make pancake recipe tastes way better than boxed pancake mix. First flour, sugar, baking soda, salt and baking powder are mixed together in a bowl. Then in a separate bowl, eggs and buttermilk are whisked together. Next the wet ingredients are stirred into the dry ingredients. The batter is cooked on a greased hot griddle until golden brown.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups AP flour
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 ½ tsp baking powder
  • 4 large eggs room temperature
  • 4 cups buttermilk

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking soda, salt and baking powder.
  2. In another bowl whisk the eggs and buttermilk until blended; stir into dry ingredients just until moistened.
  3. Pour batter by ¼ cup dosing onto greased hot griddle. Turn when bubbles form on top. Cook until second side is golden brown.

Recipe Notes

Depending on griddle; heat to 350 to 375 F.
