Better Than Fried Shrimp

The name says it all! Shrimp is dipped in a seasoned flour mixture, then in egg whites and then in Panko bread crumbs. Then the breaded shrimp are placed on a cooking and baked until golden. These shrimp are tasty enough to be eaten with or without cocktail sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups panko bread crumbs
  • 2 large egg whites
  • 1 tbsp fat-free milk
  • 3 tbsp flour
  • 3 tsp seafood seasoning
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp pepper
  • 30 uncooked large shrimp peeled and deveined
  • Olive oil flavored cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Place breadcrumbs in a shallow bowl. In another shallow bowl, combine egg whites and milk. In a third bowl combine flour, seafood seasoning, salt and pepper. Dip shrimp in flour mixture, then egg mixture and then bread crumbs.
  2. Place shrimp on baking sheet coated with cooking spray; spritz shrimp with cooking spray. Bake at 400 F for 8-12 minutes or until shrimp turn pink and coating is golden brown; turning once.

Recipe Notes

Use raw shrimp for best results; you can use fresh or frozen and thawed raw shrimp.
